This site has become sort of a launching pad for all the different things I do. The menus above will take you where you need to go.
'Music' will take you to my Bandcamp page. 'Tabla (blog)' will take you to 52 Kaidas where you can geek out on tabla in the audio, video and textual realms. 'Tabla classes' will take you to the classes part of my blog, or you can just Drop me a line for info. 'Video' will take you to my Youtube channel. I also have a Vimeo account, for higher quality and different embed options. 'Photo & Video for Musicians' will take you to http://www.edediteditededitedit.com where you can see what I do as a photographer/videographer. 'Recording Studio' will take you to info on my studio.
My 'Cycles' film project doesn't fit in the menu, so here: CYCLES !
For concert updates, new recordings, tabla news etc, please fan-up on the Facebook page. There is a Twitter , if that's your thing...
took the cover off, and this is what I found. No idea what happened.
The following 5 videos from the Ali Akbar College of Music Store in California are an excellent tutorial on how to rehead a tabla. The process is the same for the baya. Highly recommended...if you follow the steps he shows you carefully, you should have success (depends on whether the head is good and the shell is round, among other things...)
Tabla workshop information below the videos. Enjoy.

Broken, out of tune or otherwise unhappy tabla? I can show you how to fix it!
While I can and do repair my own tabla, I don't take on tabla repair jobs, and I won't fix your tabla for you. Sorry. It's just too hard on the hands.
I can, however, teach you how to rehead, pull (tighten) and tune your drum so you can do it yourself.
